ILR Compass provides general information and preparation support only — not immigration legal advice. Read our disclaimer.

Our mission

Settling in the UK involves a lot of moving parts: tracking a qualifying period that can stretch across years, keeping evidence of every trip abroad, passing the Life in the UK Test, and assembling a document bundle that convinces a caseworker at first read. ILR Compass exists to make that process organised and understandable — entirely through self-serve tools, available any time, with no appointments to book.

What this site is — and isn't

This is not a law firm, and there is no human behind it reviewing your case. ILR Compass is a fully automated platform. Nobody on our side reads your questions, checks your documents, or advises on your individual circumstances — everything you see (the AI Advisor's answers, the checklists, the test papers) is generated by pre-built logic and content, not a person responding to you. In the UK, providing immigration advice for a fee is regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. That means:
  • This site gives you general information, document organisation tools, and educational test preparation — not a legal assessment of your individual case, and not legal representation.
  • It will not tell you definitively whether you qualify, or make representations to the Home Office on your behalf.
  • If your situation involves anything legally sensitive — a past refusal, a criminal record, unusual absences, human rights arguments, or anything you're unsure about — please speak to an OISC-registered adviser or immigration solicitor before you rely on anything from this site.

How this genuinely helps

Within those boundaries, there's a lot of ground automation can cover well: explaining how the rules generally work, helping you build a complete and well-organised document set, giving you realistic Life in the UK Test practice with full worked answers, and tracking the 2026 "earned settlement" reform as it develops.
